Thank you Brother Knights!  We’re still tallying the numbers, but we are well into the hundreds of man hours involved with the festival.   We had over 50% of our membership participate in the festival in some way.

Check out some of the photos from the weekend…

St. Simon Festival Time!

st-simon-logo-left-orangeThis year’s festival is creeping up fast!  Our Knights of Columbus volunteering tradition continues with our managing of the Hamburger and Hot Dogs booth!

If you’re not familiar, we cook the food and man the booth.  For years, this project has been led by our Grand Knight Dennis Gochoel and Lady Karen, but they are going to try to not take it all on this year.  So our Community Program Directory Don Snemis will help organize the troops this year.

Also Brother Steve Roberts is the Chairperson for the Chicken Sandwich Booth, Brother Robert McIlvain and soon-t0-be Kurt Gilmore run the Lemon Shake Up booth.

Our goal is for every member to sign up for at least one shift during the weekend at one of these booths.

To reserve your spot please visit the St. Simon Festival Volunteer Page.  The prime slots fill up very fast so don’t miss out!

Early Christian Art Presentation

Wine & Cheese SocialWe know it’s not easy getting people to sit through a PowerPoint presentation on a Friday night.

Still more than 20 people attended our wine and cheese social and presentation on Early Christian Art by Carole Kauffman a docent at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.

We had a very engaged audience and several attendees were excited about what they had learned.

Carole has offered to give our council/parish a private tour of the artworks in person at the IMA.  Be watching for more information on that event once we get it scheduled.
